Interior natural woodwork restoration

Library restoration

This is a 100-year-old private Oak library that was missing pieces and greatly discolored from water damage and age.

  • We began by repairing the plaster ceiling and painting it with specialty mineral paint.
  • We carved new Oak pieces to rebuild the fireplace surround and missing wainscotting.
  • We stripped all wood surfaces, sanded them to an even consistency, applied layers of custom stain then applied a durable natural finish throughout the room.

Living room restoration

We restored a 120-year-old large Mahogany living room/ballroom in a private residence on the Main Line. The ceiling was collapsing and the naturally finished Mahogany wainscoting and trims were greatly damaged by water leaks, insects, and age. Following extensive renovation of the ceiling, we completely stripped all the woodwork in the room to its natural state. We recreated the damaged, missing panels and trims and related woodwork. We applied layers of custom stain to restore the original color and applied a durable, water-based topcoat of varnish to protect the woodwork.
